One Month Marxloh
2010/2011 Residency, exhibition
In 2010, I spent a month in Marxloh, an area in the German city of Duisburg, on invitation by Foundation Modile.
The resulting works, a series of analogue c-prints, were exhibited in Marxloh in 2010 and at Het Wilde Weten in 2011.
During the year of the Cultural Capital of Europe Ruhr.2010, six artists from Rotterdam were given the opportunity to work for one month in Marxloh, part of the industrial city of Duisburg (Germany). The exhibition brings together seven artistic approaches to the complex and transforming agglomeration of industry and habitation in Marxloh and the surrounding Ruhr area. In November 2010 the exhibition has been shown in Marxloh and in February 2011 at Het Wilde Weten in Rotterdam. 1 maand Marxloh was initiated and organized by the artists Kim Zieschang and Arnoud Schuurman.
